About Buzzard Rock

About

Buzzard Rock Farm

The Allred lineage can be traced back to the mid-1730s when they first settled in this region. Constructed in 1945, the charming farmhouse stands as a testament to the area’s rich history, as it was built using timber sourced from the original homestead building that the Allreds established centuries ago.

For nearly three centuries, this land was under the stewardship of the Allred family. Over the generations, the farm became known for its robust tobacco production, as well as its commitment to raising dairy cows and chickens, which were supplied to major distributors. Located not far from the farmhouse is the storied Buzzard Rock. Local legends hold that if one places their hand upon this ancient rock, it brings blessings and ensures good fortune in marriage.
